Lexington 2020 Vision - Hartwell Avenue Commercial District

Small working sessions to discuss three commercial development scenarios for the Hartwell Avenue commercial district will follow presentations by the Economic Development Task Force and the Planning Board. Planning topics include the permitting process, traffic demand management, density, setbacks, sustainable design, and community choices regarding commercial growth. These are all being considered as part of redrafting Lexington's Zoning Bylaw for a recommendation to the 2009 Spring Town Meeting. Lexington 2020 Vision is sponsoring this forum as part of a broad community discussion about Lexington's future.

LWV Concord-Carlisle: Responding to Climate Change

The Forum will be held on Wednesday, Nov 12 at 7:30 pm in Concord, MA, in the Alcott School Auditorium, 93 Laurel Street. Retiring State Senator, Pam Resor, and other distinguished guests will discuss recently passed state energy and climate change legislation and the challenge of creating sustainable communities. Panelists will, also, address the future of our landscapes and steps individuals can take to reduce their energy use and save costs.. We would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your members. Discussion on how to keep climate change and environmental action legislation alive during these times of economic challenge is critical and this event offers an opportunity to begin the process.
